![]() I was so excited to come across the Precious Moments Little Book of Thanks for my daughter this year! Turning the pages to find the adorable and heart warming images of the Precious Moments children and animals, while reading the rhyming, and sometimes silly poems, brought a bit of nostalgia to my heart. I have a treasured book of my own rhymes that my Great-Grandmother gifted me as a young child. Precious Moments have always been near and dear to my heart. Your child will love the soft, colorful illustrations that depict both boys and girls, animals and activities, in the classic Precious Moments theme. All thoughts below are my own.Īppropriate for any child under 10, this adorably illustrated book is meant for every child’s bookshelf! There are twenty-four sweet and silly rhymes throughout the book, making it the perfect countdown to Thanksgiving. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are freely given.ĪDORABLE, CLASSIC AND NOSTALGIC… A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO CULTIVATE A HEART OF GRATITUDE WITH YOUR LITTLE ONE THIS FALL SEASON. What better time to gift it than as Fall breaks forth and Thanksgiving time nears.ĭISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy to facilitate this review. I heartily recommend this as a special book to gift to that young child you love. I like that things to be thankful are addressed in this delightful book that normally are not mentioned in a young child's book. They begin with being thankful for the "new day." Then the pages are filled with thanks for others' love, sounds, food, songs, weather, laughter, autumn leaves, etc. Now about the thanksgiving prayers in this little padded cover board book. The illustrations are, as are all Precious Moments drawings, beautifully charming. No, these are not classics, but they are worthy of keeping, loving, treasuring. Rhymes that further the love of literature in its beauty. There is such a wealth of thankfulness beautifully expressed in well composed rhymes that lend themselves to memory or recollection. Though it will be used a lot by each child or family, it will be carefully used and treasured. But with the groundwork done last summer, a more normal, progressive build will surely be the order of this transfer window. This is one of those special books that get passed down from child to child or generation to generation. Expect more departures and a potentially smaller squad for next season. But this summer should be different to last. To get up was one miracle, to stay up is another, and that remarkable achievement leads to what should be another summer of building. A full season from both of those, and you can’t help but feel that Forest wouldn’t have flirted with relegation quite as closely as they did.Īnd that win over Arsenal to secure Premier League survival feels as important in terms of club history as the play-off final win. To name just two, leading-scorer Taiwo Awoniyi and defender Moussa Niakhate have proved their value over the final few weeks. Moulding a squad with so many new signings, and hampered by so many injuries, he’s proved yet again this season, in the most trying circumstances and in the most difficult league in the world, what a talented coach and inspirational leader he is.Īt times, Forest had an entire team sidelined through injury – indeed 11 were missing again for the final game of the campaign. ![]() Steve Cooper’s work has been outstanding again. Away supporters have had precious little to cheer, but they have cheered, long and loud through the entire season.Īnd those fans have backed their head coach throughout, too. The City Ground atmosphere has gained nationwide recognition, and undoubtedly the fans have helped dragged Forest over the line on a few occasions. Throughout it all, those supporters have been vocal, vociferous and, well, supportive! Reds fans have been through the whole gamut of emotions – witnessing some great moments, but also some real lows. Ultimately, and most importantly, it had success.Īt the start of the campaign, just about every Forest fan would have taken 17th place and survival, so to be four points clear in 16th by the end certainly constitutes success. A first season in the top-flight since 1998-99, and it had a bit of everything.

Mundfish’s art direction team must have worked overtime on this and it shows. The level of environmental detail and the way they are used for storytelling is fantastic. When you actually gain control of Major Sergei Nechaev, nicknamed P-3, the protagonist of Atomic Heart, things pick up very quickly and begin to get interesting. ![]() "The level of environmental detail and the way they are used for storytelling is fantastic." This shows up a few times throughout the game, but its worse at the beginning. By that point, I was fifteen minutes into the game without any kind of real gameplay outside of walking and interacting with various things. But these sequences went for far too long for my liking. Everything is visually breathtaking, without a doubt. The rest of the opening was comprised of several, long cutscenes where the game takes its time to show you its gorgeous world and sumptuous graphics. I literally felt like clutching my head, screaming, and running somewhere quiet. This sequence happens only in the opening (you don’t deal with groups of humans for the rest of the game), but it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth almost immediately. However, your first foray into Atomic Heart is also marked by walking through a crowd and being bombarded with a cacophony of conversations, all seemingly happening at the same time. ![]() That much is clear from the game’s spectacular opening. The designs of the world, people, and robots you encounter are breathtaking, and the graphical fidelity on display is very impressive. Atomic Heart is the studios’ first major game and one that is also incredibly high profile, with seemingly the entire games industry anticipating it. The developer’s need to “wow” or shock you is palpable throughout the game, and while some of it works, some of it comes across as strained. " Atomic Heart, for better or worse, is a game that is obsessed with spectacle."Ītomic Heart, for better or worse, is a game that is obsessed with spectacle. Does that mean Atomic Heart isn’t worth your time? However, while the gameplay is solid, the game falls short in other areas. And after playing the game, I can tell you that those comparisons are mostly accurate. Immediate parallels were drawn between Atomic Heart and many other modern shooters, citing the “utopia gone wrong” narrative and complex combat that makes use of both weapons and special powers. For the past four years, various story trailers and gameplay overviews have conveyed to us a project that is a wildly ambitious technological showcase, while also being narratively and mechanically dense.
